The majority of games have a number of levels, the first couple are fairly easy and then they become more difficult. Game level design is a complex job that demands skill and patience.

Video games are only considered to be great when the player cannot bear to take his/her eyes off of the screen. This means that the person who designs the entertainment has to work hard to ensure that the player becomes mesmerized. Most games have many different levels and each one of them has to be designed separately.

Occasionally the creator will work from a story that he has written himself but in the main planning games means being part of an enthusiastic team. Such undertakings are complex, the designers have to create an environment, gripping characters, landscapes, missions and endless other challenges. Poorly constructed games soon fall by the wayside.

Many dream of doing a job like this, creating games for a living sounds good. But only those with great expertise and skill can embark on a career putting together this type of entertainment. Constructing this type of material takes a lot of time and effort and a designer has to be very computer literate.

Experienced designers are sought after and they can command a good salary. Jobs for gaming designers are advertised on the internet and some universities are now offering courses that can count as a qualification for entry into the world of devising games. Creating and designing gaming is a painstaking and complex task.

Gaming designers tend to work in teams. One part of the team may build the background, another will create the characters while the remaining team members work on the mission or the plot. Great game level design is behind every best selling adventure.
