Watching your children every minute they are online is not the only way to keep them safe. Is there a way to not watch them all the time, but still protect them? If you are a child and have friends, and would like some privacy, your parents will want to know everything you are doing, but it just shows that they care. Wanting to protect your children from bad things happening, is a good enough reason for this. Knowing what your child is up to can be important, but maybe knowing their online friends may be crucial. That's because people online aren't always who they claim to be. So keep track of who your child's online friends are, and instruct them not to share personal information with anyone they haven't met in person. This means they shouldn't be sending pictures of themselves to strangers, or telling anyone their phone number or where they live.

A thing that should concern you is if your child is having unusual phone activity. If your kid receives a gift or a parcel from someone then you should definitely check it out. You should be on the lookout for your child having secretive behavior about anything whether it is online or not.

There usually isn't any grave danger from the internet for children, even though we have been focusing on protecting children online.
