When I manually disable the NIS software (just for comparison), my system flies and is back to normal! Obviously, the culprit is Norton Internet Security. Trust me, no software should do this. As a plus, the Amazon tech people were kind and tried all sorts of ways working with me as I cried into the phone. It works great to keep your computer running smoothly. There are improvements over the 2010 version, but what strikes me as the best feature, it works in the back ground, keeping you or anyone using your computer out of harms way.
People not hindered by lack of bandwidth shouldn't have any problems downloading the latest virus definitions and program updates. Once installed, the interface is very simple to use and, unlike McAfee, you can easily see the date the latest virus definitions were uploaded. You can type your keywords into it and it will filter out problem sites. There is also a good/bad rating icon on the browser toolbar for websites you are currently on.
I feel safe in doing my transactions over the net.
It is an easy program to manage and the settings are simple. It also tells me exactly the things I told it to do, such as schedules for scanning etc. Amazon shipped it quickly with no hassle. I brought this for my laptop and desktop, it does weekly scanning, to see if my computer or laptop has any virus. Let me start by saying that I have been using Norton products since their initial inception. Over the years I have tried using, on a test basis, most every internet security program available.
If you check their website, there are others with the same problem. If the next phone call does not resolve the problem, I will take a loss and purchase another system. There is a feature to the NIS program that if you think there may still be a problem after you do a virus scan to click here. Well, I clicked the area and a new program called Norton Power Eraser was displayed. There should be no reason I have to waste time every day, running something manually and hoping it will process. I needed the mac Norton internet antivirus and they did not let me cancel the order after buying the item.
And I have to say, this thing is the best antivirus I ever used. I used quite a few already, and none come close to how smooth - and above all, discreet this thing is.
Using on a Laptop with an AMD Dual core 2.20ghz processor, 8gb ram, and windows 7 64bit. I bought this to replace Kaspersky.
